====== PC CADDIE cash register on iPod Touch 5G or iPhone 5 ======

The PC CADDIE handheld POS system can now also be conveniently used on the iPod/iPhone/iPad:

This requires the iTap RDP software, which should be configured as follows:

First, the software must be downloaded and installed from the Apple Store, then the iPod's home screen can look like this, for example:

===== Configure iTap RDP =====

Firstly, a "bookmark" must be created to access the server. This is usually done via "Add manual bookmark" - the entry "Handheld 1" has already been created here. If an entry already exists, tap the arrow on the right to adjust the configuration if necessary.

The "Label" can be freely selected for the other settings - host, port and gateway (a gateway is rarely used) should be specified by the administrator of the IT environment.

If you scroll further down, the resolution for "Screen" is particularly important, and "Remember Zoom" should also be activated:

The option to enter a customised screen resolution can be found at the bottom under "Screen":

Under "Advanced", no adjustments need to be made to the upper points at first...

...further down, however, the "Utility Bar" setting must be set to "Initially Off" and, above all, the "Mouse Mode" must be set to "Draw Mode":

In the further "Global Settings" (accessible from the iTap RDP main menu), the gateways are stored if required. It can be useful to define the previously defined connection as "Autostart" here - then simply less can "go wrong".

===== Use cash register =====

It is now easy to start the PC CADDIE cash register dial-in. PC CADDIE then appears with the customer list of the cash register, preceded by the password prompt if necessary. If you tap the screen briefly with three fingers at the same time, the "Utility Bar" appears at the top:

The first time you use it - after you have dragged the screen image to the correct size once - you should block any further resizing with the lock icon at the top.

You will also find the following symbols from left to right:

  * Call up help (probably not so important for end users)
  * Show keyboard (can also be done by swiping down with three fingers - but our keyboard is probably better here, it actually works quite well...)
  * **Draw mode** - It is important that this is set. There may be two other symbols here, but they are unsuitable for handheld operation. If the operation seems to be delayed, it is often due to this.
  * **Lock zoom**
  * Option if you have several screens - not important for us
  * **Disconnect the connection** - especially if you have activated Autostart and want to return to the configuration.
