For all participating clubs: If you are planning a multi-round tournament in which, for example, 1 round is played in each of three golf clubs, and at the end you would like to have the overall ranking for all 3 rounds, please note the following tips. We assume that all clubs use PC CADDIE to organise the tournament.
A multi-round tournament can only be displayed in 1 club at a time in INTRANET!
Please always make sure you have the latest PC CADDIE version. You can download updates ⇒here
Multiple places in one tournament
Load course data for each club possible
Special setting Switzerland
The club that handles the 1st round can continue the round of golf as usual up to and including the end of the tournament (HCPI relevance) and then prepare the 2nd round.
After the HCPI-relevant tournament conclusion, all players must be invited to the next round and a starting list (at least provisionally with times) should be drawn up for the next round.
Only THEN may the tournament be exported to the next club. The players have already been checked on the intranet at the start of the 1st round.
With this procedure, „Home club unknown“ will not appear for the participants in the 2nd round either
How to invite players to the 2nd round: Load players from the preliminary round
If you click on Define cut ALL players will be loaded into the next round.
Then export to the next club: Export tournament
Please export to the PC CADDIE server
Let the club handling the next round know that the tournament is ready for collection!
After you have exported to the next club, you should no longer publish the tournament on the Internet. In INTRANET, a tournament can only be published in 1 club at a time (INTRANET does not display it in several clubs). Should you nevertheless start a transmission, you will receive the tournament master warning! In this case, inform the club that is organising the next round so that the players can find the start list for the next round in the club (Internet) where the game is taking place!
The club handling the 2nd round now imports the tournament: Import tournament
Please import from the PC CADDIE server with the button Load tournament released on the Internet.
In a multi-round tournament, your place data number is certainly already set in one round.
In any case, actively enter your own course into the tournament again after the import (You did not overwrite your own course data during the import - according to the import instructions!)
Only then check the imported tournament for tournament completion and new handicaps for the 2nd round.
To do this, print out the results list for the 1st round. The column with the GBE/AGS values shows you that the tournament has been finalised. If the players have already been loaded into the 2nd round AND a start list has already been created by the previous club, everything should already be ok in the player editor of the 2nd round.
You can then change your start list (games) at any time if necessary. A „Home club unknown“ is not on the list.
You can also use the WHS to compare the HCPs for the 2nd round if you do not tick the box „Always keep HCP from 1st round“ (if in doubt, ask our support@pccaddie.com). Please note, however, that new HCPs will not be available with the WHS until the day after the results are submitted at the earliest (will change again in 2022 with provisional HCPs in Germany). If not all home clubs of the players from the 1st round have connected to the intranet after the end of the 1st round, you may also receive „outdated“ handicaps in the event of an intranet table for the 2nd round. If you process the betting game with the tick „always keep HCP of the 1st round“, it will be clear for every player which HCP they will start the rounds with!
Now complete the 2nd round as usual and also complete the tournament close the tournament for the 2nd round onlyand then load the players from the 2nd round into the 3rd round and create a start list for the 3rd round, ONLY THEN export it to the 3rd club so that it can also import the tournament optimally prepared (note the important information on the Round 1 procedure, and proceed in the same way).
Import the tournament in the same way as the club that completed the 2nd round above and check it in the same way as the club that completed the 2nd round. At the end of the round, simply finalise the tournament for the 3rd round and print out the complete results list for all 3 rounds.
Read in particular the explanations for round 2 carefully!
In Switzerland, according to the regulations, the calculation of the net points on the result lists for multi-round tournaments
always with the starting handicap of the 1st round. However, the tournament is also concluded after each round.
It is assumed that it is fairer for the players if the handicap of the 1st round is always used for the results lists:
Example:
Player 1 improves in the 1st round and would have correspondingly fewer points in the 2nd round without the special setting
Player 2 only improves in the 2nd round (has played the same as player 1 in the 1st round), he would have an advantage over player 1 in the total points from the rounds without the special setting
This should be prevented and is achieved with the following setting.
Check next to the game form under „Special“
If the box is ticked, you can complete the tournament after each round as recommended, but the net points for all rounds are always calculated using the starting handicap for the 1st round for the results list. The handicap lines on the scorecards are also printed for the handicap from the 1st round (if the player had a higher handicap in the 1st round).
The scorecards from round 2 onwards then show both the starting handicap for the 1st round (information for the player - this handicap is used to calculate the points for the results list) and the actual handicap, which is determined by the end of the tournament.which was determined at the end of the preliminary round.
If the handicap lines are printed on the scorecards (standard for Stableford), the lines for the higher handicap are always printed. This means that if a player has deteriorated in the 1st round and has a higher course handicap according to the course rating table, this HCP is also printed (provided that the preliminary round has been completed and a new HCP is already available with the WHS).
Scorecard example: Player has worsened the handicap in the 1st round. The current HCPI after the 1st round is 6.4, he therefore has a handicap of 6 on the scorecard for the handicap calculation, the handicap of 5 is the starting handicap of the 1st round, which is used for the results lists. In this case, the printing of both handicaps indicates to the player that he has 1 stroke more than in the 1st round!
Scorecard example: Player has improved the handicap in the 1st round. The current HCPI after the 1st round is 26.8. The playing HCP 32 is determined using the starting handicap from the 1st round. In this case, the player has the same handicap for the game as from the 1st round, a clear indication of a changed HCP is unnecessary for the game and is therefore not displayed.
As usual, select the button Finish button in the tournament and remove then remove the tick for the completion of the 2nd or 3rd round, for example: and all preliminary rounds
After you have imported the tournament, you realise that the players have not been loaded into the next round. However, the tournament has been completed, as you can see after printing the results list of the 1st round.
If you can still reach the previous club, ask them to load the players into the next round and create a start list with times and then re-export the tournament.
If it is not possible for the previous club to load the players into the next round, create this yourself (as described above).
In this case, however, the new handicaps will not automatically be included in the 2nd round.
You must therefore carry out the intranet synchronisation for the 2nd round. To do this, click in the basic tournament settings on the right on INTERNET. If you now Check players and course via intranet you will receive the question about the round:
The intranet synchronisation then only changes the HCPs of the 2nd round.
Please note that you will only receive the new handicaps correctly from the intranet if the intranet synchronisation was carried out after the end of the 1st round tournament at the club that handled the 1st round.
Only then will the association have the data to calculate new HCPs.
If you only have a few players with „Home club unknown“, edit them directly in the player editor in the player editor by opening it with the magnifying glass and performing an intranet check on the person. This is then less „checking effort“ than checking all players in the round via the intranet.
Change these HCPs manually for the players in the round's player editor if they are not correct. Select the player, open him by clicking on the magnifying glass and change the HCP for the round to the best of your knowledge.
Exported and imported tournaments on the intranet always have the same tournament ID. Therefore, the last uploaded status is always displayed on the intranet. In practice, for example, the club that has completed the 1st round uploads the results list to the intranet and exports it to the 2nd club. The 2nd club then exports the start list for the 2nd round to the intranet.
If the 1st club were to export to the intranet again, the following warning would appear! Either the named club should be notified or you should select „Cancel“!
Reason: If, for example, the 1st club were to send the result list of the 1st round again, the export of the start list of the 2nd round from the club named in the warning would be removed from the intranet! This is because the intranet only recognises that a new export of the tournament has taken place!
In our example, the „other club concerned“ is PCCADDIE:OnlineGast from D (Germany)
