Here we would like to give you some help in handling the many different club championship competitions.
The most common questions concern the tee-offs in the tournament, the prize division, different numbers of rounds for different players or groups, 9 hole rounds in the middle of the club championship, or at the end the presentation of the prizes on the internet.
Basically, you should always handle a club championship as 1 tournament.
In Switzerland, even before WHS, it was recommended to always start and calculate with the handicap of the 1st round; with the approach that a player who improves his handicap in the 1st round is not disadvantaged in terms of total score calculation compared to a player who improves his handicap only in the 2nd round.
With the WHS we can no longer help you if you have to copy a betting game for the prizes and you then continue to work inconveniently. If a member of staff should CLEAR the copied betting game in your house (also a copied betting game is in the final reminder for 30 days), the played results are subsequently DOUBLED at the association !!! We can then no longer make a correction!!!
So think carefully about what you allow in the announcement.
It would be good if all participants play the same number of rounds, or if seniors have to decide whether they want to play for the senior club champion OR the overall club champion. This would be important if the overall club champions play one more round. If you take this to heart, there is no need for a betting game copy so that you can get the prize evaluation for the seniors as well!!! And as a consequence, there will certainly be no duplicate results at the Federation as you do not need a tournament copy for the prizes!!!

When you complete each round, please make sure that you only start a new HCPI adjustment for the following round.
If you mistakenly start an HCPI adjustment for the 1st round after the completion of the 1st round on the following day, the HCPI can no longer be corrected, as according to the DGV specifications, these fields are „greyed out“ and cannot be edited!
If your club championship was newly created, the check mark for „always keep HCP of 1st round“ is automatically set.
In principle, it is „allowed“ to state in the announcement that the complete multi-round competition (regardless of whether several rounds are played on the same day or on several consecutive days) will be played completely with the HCP of the 1st round.
Since it is not possible to get a new HCP from the DGV for a 2nd round on the same day (the provisional HCPI is not possible for this!), we recommend that you always use the HCP of the 1st round for multi-round competitions. You can then make the tournament conclusion at the end of the betting game for all rounds, this makes no difference at the end of the betting game with regard to the newly calculated HCPI, only with net prizes would it make a difference.
If you still want to start each day with the recalculated HCPI, please remove the checkmark „always keep 1st round handicaps“:
Select „Details“ - to be found next to the game form:
Entering Hole results
If a „1“ is entered, PC CADDIE waits for a second digit to be entered. Thus, entries of up to 19 strokes per hole are possible. If a score higher than 19 was achieved on a hole in a counting game higher than 19, enter a point before the number of strokes, e.g. „.20“.
Do you want to play 27 holes on each of 2 days in your club championship, for example? Do you want to play one 18-hole round and one 9-hole round on both days? Then read the following link:
Several rounds with different numbers of holes

Example of an announcement for a club championship from 2012
It is played here classically from the YELLOW and RED tees and is not particularly mentioned, as no other tees are gated at all (feel free to send us a similar current example of a call for entries )
Also with the WHS, the procedure is exactly as follows:
Define prizes individually
The prices are not created here with the „helper“, but manually and individually! Use person filters at category to divide your groups!
Create person filter
Please use person filters to delimit the groups. If it is possible to clearly delimit according to age group, then
for the club championship, the person filter can be set via the age groups in most cases. Of course, you can also use the date of birth to divide your groups.
Here, however, neither of these works for the filter Menfilter, as some seniors are also to be evaluated in the men's group.
Use for the men: Person filter with enumeration
Once your players are entered in the tournament, check your prize classification by printing the result list (also without result) and check that all players are also listed at the correct prizes.
This is how the prize division from our example should look like. The CR equalisation is switched off. You set this next to the game form under Special.
When all 3 rounds have been played and entered, you will see that for those seniors who have already played the 1st round (because of the men's evaluation, which goes over 54 holes), the result of the 1st round is also counted towards the senior prize (although the senior evaluation only includes rounds 2 and 3 - 36 holes).
In this case, do the following:
Only continue here if you are sure about what you are doing!
Start with Tournament new and then copy into a new empty 36 hole tournament and check all the boxes except Tournament Settings. Please read the following note first!
TIP The original tournament is set to 54 holes. Set the new tournament to 36 holes and do not copy any tournament settings, otherwise the copy will also be set to 54 holes. However, we only want to copy 2 rounds!
Copy round without tournament settings Attention IMPORTANT, please do not copy the tournament settings, but set the new tournament to 36 holes before copying !!!
You will be asked to which round you want to copy. First copy round 2 from the source tournament (original of the Club Championship) to the new target tournament in round 1, then repeat the process and copy round 3 from the source tournament to round 2 of the target tournament.
Pay attention to the TARGET TURNOUT again, after confirmation a filled tournament would be overwritten here!!!
Attention: if you need this, you must make sure for 30 days that NONE of your employees or captains completes the copy with regard to HCPI relevance! You have no possibility of correction if the results arrive twice at the association (DGV)! The results will then be counted twice for the HCPI and you will have to contact the association for corrections.
The copy of the club championship is only for the prize determination of the seniors. It is best to change the tournament name appropriately to e.g.: „Club Championship Seniors“ (possibly also: and net scores over 2 rounds depending on the announcement).
For prizes/categories copy first the prizes from the original tournament and then delete all prizes that were played over 3 rounds, because you have the evaluation for these in the original tournament.
With the copied tournament you can now also publish the Senior Club Champion!
With WHS you can also complete all rounds with the 1st round handicap, according to WHS rules.
If you were to close each round of the club championship immediately after the end of the round, you would receive the provisional HCPI from the DGV. However, these are not automatically used for the subsequent rounds.
This would require further processing! Read =>here
Make absolutely sure that you under no circumstances close a tournament that may have been copied because of additional prize determination (tournament closure), after 30 days the reminder of the tournament closure also disappears automatically!!!

When you complete each round, please make sure that you only start a new HCPI comparison (a new „no longer provisional HCPI“ is only delivered after a nightly recalculation from the DGV server) for the following round.
If you mistakenly start an HCPI adjustment for the 1st round after the completion of the 1st round on the following day, the HCPI can no longer be corrected, as according to the DGV specifications these fields are „greyed out“ and cannot be edited!
Keep in mind that the classification of the HCP limit of the tees is first applies to the entire tournament, i.e. to all rounds.
Arrange tee-offs
If all players play from different tees in the individual rounds, you can enter them per round:
Set tees for individual rounds
In addition, you can make individual tee settings for each player in the player editor:
Enter player information.
This is less useful for a comparison for a club championship.
It can also be practical to set the tee for groups in the price settings, e.g. a different tee for all seniors. This then applies to the entire competition!
By printing a start list (also per round) and printing the tee, you check in advance whether the players are counted from the appropriate tee. This way you can check your settings!
Several places in the tournament
In club championships, this is often used by courses that have, for example, 27 holes. In this case, course A-B can be set for the first round and course B-C for the second round. It is also important here that the setting for the HCP limit of the tees applies to all rounds, or you can set completely different tees for individual rounds.
Since you probably assign individual gross prizes for your groups, a CR compensation (which then applies to other groups) would be wrong. Since you create the prices individually (not with the helper), an automatic setting is not possible!
Switch it off - next to the game form click on DETAILS and then:
If, according to your invitation to play, Stableford is also included in your club championship in addition to the counting method, we recommend that you also differentiate between these when allocating prizes to the groups.
It does not necessarily make sense to compare these two types of calculation directly with each other. The order is always determined „over CR“ or „over par“ - For comparison, print the result list with „Gross List Layout“ for comparison.
A good example of a club championship in which counting play and Stableford are used would be, for example, if you want to enable players with handicaps 37 to 54 to also participate in this event. Players with HCP 37 and above start with counting Stableford. You set a separate net prize for this group.
In this case, set to: HCP Good-Counting, High-Stableford and enter „36“ at the limit (up to and including 36, the counting method will be used. The requirements 37-54 are counted as Stableford.
In the event of a tie in the Club Championship, „sudden death“ is usually used for play-offs:
Sudden Death Result
Completely unwind the 1st round.
Use the following Load cut from preliminary round
Of course, you can also enter the same person filters (groups) in the settings for the categories for cutting that you use in the prize classification and thus achieve that the players are sorted according to groups and results and loaded into the next round.
However, the tournament does not care how you enter the players into the next round, and you always have all the options available: manually deleting players who no longer play, or entering additional players who did not play in another round (see the example in the announcement), or also using the results list of the 1st round to sort the start list with the buffer (as usual). For the calculation of results over several rounds, „Load cut from previous round“ is not a prerequisite.
Save in between! This gives you the option of returning to an earlier status of the start list at any time with the undo button!
If you want to ensure that NOTHING is changed in the order in which you loaded the players (cut from preliminary round) when „sorting and formatting“ the start list for the 2nd round, please switch off all checks, in particular uncheck the „Group composition check“. The tick „Sort within group“ can also be removed if necessary (here only the ladies are sorted to the end of the games if ladies and men are mixed in the game).
Of course, you can still make manual changes to the start list as much as you want.
TIP If you start in descending order by result (the best last), have you ever considered taking a break as soon as the „slow“ field of players has started? To do this, simply change the start time of the 1st flight that is to start after the break manually in the player editor and confirm with „move everything from here“.
People often ask how to print a list with GBE/AGS (evaluated gross result/adjusted gross score) after the 2nd round (or analogously after further subsequent rounds), as this column does not appear in the result list for several rounds (combined).
Print the result list ONLY for the individual round, e.g. just for the 2nd round, by completely removing the ticks for total lists when printing, and: do not forget to set them again when you want to print the summary.
The „classic“ leaderboard is not used much at present, as „online live scoring“ is now enjoying increasing popularity.
You can display all the scores on the leaderboard on a screen in the restaurant or clubhouse. To the PC CADDIE Leaderboard
