You need admin rights in order to create a new user or to edit the already existing PC CADDIE users.
PC CADDIE password management offers you the possibility to grant individual users different access rights to individual functions. You can access the main menu of this function via Setup/Password management.
We distinguish between Individual access (1) and Group access (2) when creating the passwords. Old credentials are deactivated and remain in the list (3). Only then is it possible to maintain a record of the past activities. You also have the option of defining basic settings (for example, automatic logoff after a certain amount of time, etc.) (4).
Please note that the password request must be activated if you have installed a Teetime server for online bookings.
Single access is used if you want to give individual rights to a person.
HINT: Use the Group access if you want to grant the same rights to multiple employees.
Click New and select the desired option (Single user/password or New entry based on the selected one).
The desired settings for defining the employees' access rights are made in the following dialog:
The PC CADDIE password management allows you to independently control the individual passwords. For this purpose, there are several special functions and blocks (for example, from individual fields, etc.) which are set under Special. These additional restrictions allow you to lock individual specific fields for editing (an example of this could be the field of membership in the Person mask). Find out more about this in the chapter Special/Restrictions.
The PC CADDIE Infodesktop can only be activated by the supervisor.
Define here the group(s) of the user. The advantage here lies quite clearly in the standardization of rights, as well as the time savings in contrast to setting up individual access rights.
Find out more in the chapter Group access.
The same principles apply to the creation of Group access as for Single access. If you want to assign rights to a Single access, that do not correspond to the default settings of the Group access(if one employee in a group should have more rights than all others, for example), you can change this directly in the individual access. These settings take precedence over the group rights.
The settings are identical with the ones described for Single access. These settings are valid for everybody assigned to the respective group.
The individual settings for functions are described below in the section Setting access rights.
The restrictions under special are created the same as described in the section Special for the Single access, only that these apply to the whole group and not for one person.
How do I set the individual access rights? Basic information on the individual categories is described in the following table. Please contact our support for authorizations/lockings that only apply to individual functions or input fields in PC CADDIE.
Important: if an access is marked with „no“, this „no“ always has priority! No matter if it is stored in the settings for a person or in those for a group, no is no. Thus, if individual persons (for example, at the reception) should have more rights than others (for example, for sales), then the corresponding parameter in the group (reception) must be set to „neutral“ and the rights of the individual employees are to be directly consider. The most commonly used special commands for additional rights or denials are listed below the description of the settings. These must be entered in the respective access in the tab Special.

You should not delete a user via the password management, but rather block his access. Otherwise you will have problems understanding who made what. Only the person’s identification is stored in the database, and not the correct name.
The attempt to create a new user with the same abbreviation already used for an existing - albeit deactivated - will trigger a corresponding warning message from PC CADDIE. If an access that had the same ID as the new access had been previously deleted, the new one will be deposited in all places where the old person was previously linked.
In particular, CRM\DMS users should not delete other users. The blocked users are marked with a pre-defined „Z“ or “X” in the password administration window. Zudem können alle noch offenen Tickets der austretenden Person auf eine andere Person umgestellt werden.
